I was lucky enough to encounter an abundance of these extremely rare plants in the wild, and so I absoloutley had to paint them. These are not flowers in the traditional sense: they are slightly parasitic and mold-like. Lacking chlorophyll, they are perfectly adapted to life in the deep woods, and are a breathtaking translucent white, sometimes with red or pink details.

I decided to convey them in three of their life stages: the leftmost is coming into flowering. The central one is dying and releasing its seeds. the one on the right is in full bloom, at its peak, taking in the moonlight.
